THIS WORDPRESS ACCOUNT IS NO LONGER BEING MONITORED.
Wow. I have been so busy lately that it’s been nearly impossible to keep up with my blogging.
First, I did go to San Diego and film the commercial for Spinning. It was AMAZING!! The people were so nice, the shoot was so much fun, and getting instruction from a master instructor was a once in a life time experience! I really enjoyed how they did my hair and make-up and made me feel like a princess :) It was awesome. I should have the proofs from the shoot soon and I’ll be certain to share them online.
Second, I have been a running fool. I know I’ve mentioned that I’m running in races every single month for like the next year and boy do my legs ever feel it!
More to come….
I returned to work this week and wow, am I ever busy.
We decided 2 weeks ago to repaint the interior of our house. I’ve never had my home professionally painted before. I had NO IDEA of the amount of labor ON MY PART that I was expected to do. I seriously think I packed and unpacked nearly every item in our house. They are still not finished with the job (today is 10) though should finish today, we’ll do our walk-through tomorrow and that should be it! Then I can buy all the new accessories that will give it that final touch.
My library at school also got a big makeover this summer. I’ve been busting my butt unpacking thousands of books, moving shelves, cleaning, etc…I’m nearly all finished and only managed to break my left pinkie finger in the process (if not broken, then bruised very very badly) when it got smashed between one of my older 6′ metal bookcases and a hand truck. That’s what I get for being impatient and not waiting for head of maintance to send over one of his guys.
In other news….NEXT Friday the Tampa Trib is sending out a photographer to my gym. I am being featured in one of the paper segments called “I Lost It” and they’ll be taking some “after” pics of me at the gym :) The gym was my mom’s idea and then I decided to do it on my spin bike at the gym :) Sort of ties it in to my next accomploshiment! I’m going to San Diego August 30-September 4 to be featured in a commercial for Mad Dogg Athletics, AKA…Spinning. I am SUPER excited!! James is coming with me, and my lovely mama will be staying with the trio, taking them to and from school, etc. It’s so nice for her to do that so I can go do this. It’s quite the adventure! They are putting us up at the Hotel Solamar and we’ll have 4 full days on our own before they need me for the commercial. EXCITING!!
I’ve been working harder than ever, trying to get my body in the best spinning shape I can before we leave. It’s pretty tight now, but it can always be better :)
I’ll be sure to post updates and lots of pics when I return!
I turn 40 on Monday! Wow!! 40 is the new 30 and I believe it! I look so much better and feel so much better at 40 than I did at 30! And to celebrate my birthday James and I, my parents, and Lori/Jason are all going out on the Yacht Star Ship for dinner, dancing and entertainment! I got a fancy dress that I will pick up today from the seamstress (it had to be taken in) and a crown ;) It should be a really fun night! And of course, I’ll share pics!
Happy Birthday to me!!
Happy 5th birthday, Ronin!!
You are an amazing little boy, and I am so honored to have you in my life. I am a better mother because I am YOUR mother. You have taught me so many things….probably more than I have taught you. You have taught me patience, unconditional love, how to be an advocate, how to get by on very very little sleep ;) how to balance doctors appts, working full-time, graduate school, and so so so much more! The love I feel for you can sometimes feel overwhelming. Sometimes I look at you and I just want to cry because my heart feels like it’s going to explode. You and your sisters have forever changed me. And I am grateful.
I know we will continue to have our struggles and our battle of wills; we are both so stubborn. I know we will love each other to the moon and back.
I love you, Ronin. You amaze me every single day.
Ella had a nice birthday. We went and ate all her favorite foods, at all my favorite college haunts ;) Worked out great for the both of us. Then we went to the beach and did some wave surfing, ate ice cream (again!!) at the beach parlor, had ice cream cake for birthday cake, went and played putt-putt and then had yummy seafood (for me and James!!) and pancakes (for her and Ronin) for dinner. She also got her ears pierced. She looks lovely.
Vacation is over. We are home. We decided to come home a day early because there was a high forecast for rain, and we decided to cut our losses and head home to the comforts of our own stuff. Mainly my own bed. The bed at the condo was small and hard. Not comfortable. That’s my only complaint about the entire trip. The bed. The kids and I had a good time. :)
Life starts back (somewhat) to normal tomorrow. Ronin has a lot of doctor’s appts tomorrow (he has 2) and Tuesday (he has 1) and then Wednesday is his birthday. He wants to go to Adventure Island, so provided the weather is nice (no lightning) that’s where we will head after spinning :)
We’re here on vacation and it’s wonderful!! James is really enjoying NOT having to commute from work (we’re staying 3 miles from his job!!) and the duo and I are having a great time swimming and being together.
We start off every morning with a nice breakfast and then we go to the gym. The gym is a bit farther than we are used too, but they enjoy the kids area (they have a wii!!) so Ella gets her electronics fix for the day. Then we come back to the condo, change into our suits and spend ALL day outside until they BEG me to come inside for a nap :) It’s been lovely. They rarely nap at home, so this is a real treat for me :)
Ella will celebrate her birthday on Thursday. I’ve brought a bunch of decorations and I’ll decorate tomorrow night once she goes to bed, so when she wakes up on Thursday morning, it will be all ready for her.
I can’t believe she’s going to be 6 years old. It really doesn’t seem like 6 years ago that she was born outside at dawn in a flower garden. She’s such a special little butterfly. She is my little firework. My life is better because she is in it. She keeps me honest, she keeps me real.
Ella, you keep on marching to the beat of your own drum. You are amazing.
Happy Birthday to the USA!! I woke up bright and early this 4th of July and went and ran a race!! It was a nice race. Fast course, and very hot. Not a stitch of shade in sight. If we are still living here next year, I’ll be running it again. It was only a few miles from home, so it was nice to be able to stay local. After the race was over, I hightailed it home, showered and changed into my post-race t-shirt and we drove back up for the 4th of July parade.
We saw a lot of friends and had a very nice time. Came home and the kids and I went to pool with some other friends. It was a nice day all around. I made and ate brownies, coleslaw, baked beans and BBQ chicken.
The kids are out of summer camp (my choice…gulp!!) for the next few weeks. Tomorrow we are hitting up a new gym, well same gym franchise, just a new location because they offer spinning on Tuesday AM and my gym doesn’t. Wednesday I’m not sure what we’ll do after 9:15 spinning but Ronin has a therapist appt at 4pm. Haley is being picked up at 4am(ish) on Thursday morning, and the duo and I will hit up the gym at 9am and then just chill poolside. Friday morning we are planning on driving over to see the LAST shuttle launch!! I hope it goes off without a hitch. And then Sunday our vacation starts!! Lots of stuff going on over here!!
